Tapage & Guro Kverndokk are joined by the Indian classical violinist Sharat Chandra Srivastava for an experimental set blending electroacoustic improvisational music and Indian fusion. Accompanying them is the Slovenian jazz guitarist Igor Bezget. Earlier this year, they performed a collaborative concert in New Delhi, and several of them are coming directly from a European tour to bring their exciting sound to Drammen Støyscene.
In the landscape of experimental music, a new avant-garde duo arizes – Tapage & Guro Kverndokk. Using self-made electronics and voice, they create an intricate, suggestive, dissociative, and intense soundscape that makes you unsure whether you are actually awake or dreaming. In September 2024 they released their debut album “The Elephant Started Crying While Listening To Herself Sing”. They will bring copies to the concert.
Owing allegiance to the “Senia Gharana”, Sharat has been active on the performing circuit for over 35 years. His distinct experimental approach led him to dabble with various genres of music. To this end, he has been a noted member of India’s premier Rock ‘n Roll band Parikrama from 1992 until 2003. They have performed extensively throughout the country, weaving their own expressive interpretation of Trans-atlantic rock and Hindustani Classical Music.
Igor Bezget, one of the most influential guitarists, composers and musicians in his field of creation, was born 25.3.1968 in Maribor Slovenija. With his deeper interest for Indian music he started to play sarod, an traditional north indian plucked string instrument and studied indian classical music with pt. Biswajit Roy Choudury and pt. Suresh Talwalkar with years of developing his own ways of playing and composing.

MIKE TV
Boundlessly honest, noisy, and psychedelic – a performative séance with body, space, sex, and chaos.
MIKE TV, a kind of ritual, has roots in a psychosonic approach to experimental music and psychedelic noise. Body, space, and interwoven stories serve as guides, and no two performances are the same. Prepare your heart to beat a little softer or a little
louder.
Arrangementet er støttet av Drammen kommune.
